Services & Capabilities

What metals can you work with?

We work with a wide variety of metals including mild steel, stainless steel (304, 316, and other grades), aluminum, wrought iron, copper, brass, bronze, galvanized steel, and various specialty alloys. Our equipment is designed to handle different thicknesses and gauges, from thin sheet metal to heavy structural plate. If you have a specific material requirement, just let us know and we can source the right material for your project.

Do you offer on-site welding services?

Yes, we offer on-site welding and fabrication services throughout NYC and the surrounding areas. Our mobile welding team is equipped with portable MIG, TIG, and stick welding units to handle repairs, installations, and custom work at your location. On-site welding is ideal for structural repairs, railing installations, gate modifications, and projects where the workpiece cannot be transported to our shop.

Can you work from my blueprints or drawings?

Absolutely. We regularly work from architectural blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD files, hand sketches, and even rough ideas. Our team is experienced in reading technical drawings and can fabricate to exact specifications. If you don't have formal plans, our design team can help create detailed drawings and CAD models based on your description or reference images. We ensure every detail is confirmed before fabrication begins.

What is laser cutting and what are its advantages?

Laser cutting uses a high-powered focused laser beam to cut through metal with extreme precision. The advantages include incredibly clean cuts with smooth edges that require minimal finishing, the ability to create intricate and complex designs that would be impossible with traditional cutting methods, very tight tolerances (often within thousandths of an inch), minimal material waste, and fast production times. It is ideal for decorative panels, signage, custom parts, prototypes, and production runs.

Do you handle both residential and commercial projects?

Yes, we serve both residential and commercial clients with equal dedication and expertise. On the residential side, we create custom railings, gates, fences, window guards, furniture, and decorative metalwork. For commercial clients, we handle structural steel, storefronts, industrial equipment, restaurant fixtures, building facades, and large-scale fabrication projects. We also work with contractors, architects, and property management companies on construction and renovation projects.

Project & Pricing

How long does a typical fabrication project take?

Project timelines vary depending on the complexity, size, and material requirements. Simple projects like basic railings or repairs may be completed in 3-5 business days. Medium-complexity projects such as custom gates, fences, or ornamental work typically take 1-3 weeks. Large structural or highly custom projects can take 3-6 weeks or more. We always provide a clear timeline during the quoting process and keep you updated on progress throughout fabrication.

How do you determine pricing for a project?

Our pricing is based on several factors including the type and quantity of materials needed, the complexity of the design, the amount of labor and time required, any finishing treatments (painting, powder coating, galvanizing), and whether installation is included. We provide detailed, itemized quotes so you know exactly what you are paying for. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges. We are committed to offering competitive, fair pricing for premium quality work.

Do you offer rush or emergency services?

Yes, we understand that some projects are time-sensitive and offer rush and emergency fabrication services. Whether you need an urgent repair, a last-minute installation, or an accelerated production schedule, our team can often accommodate tight deadlines. Rush services may incur additional charges depending on the scope of work. Please call us directly at (917) 807-9922 to discuss your urgent needs and we will work to find a solution.

What is the minimum order size?

We do not have a strict minimum order size. We welcome projects of all sizes, from a single custom bracket or small repair to large-scale production runs and structural steel fabrication. We believe every project deserves the same level of quality and attention, regardless of size. That said, there may be a minimum shop fee for very small jobs to cover setup and material costs. Contact us with your specific needs and we will provide a fair quote.

Do you provide installation services?

Yes, we offer professional installation services for all of our fabricated products. Our experienced installation team handles railings, gates, fences, structural steel, window guards, decorative panels, and more. We ensure everything is installed correctly, securely, and in compliance with local building codes. Installation can be included in your project quote, or we can deliver finished products to your site if you prefer to handle installation yourself.

Quality & Safety

Are your welders certified?

Yes, all of our welders are certified and highly experienced in multiple welding processes including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), stick (SMAW), and flux-core (FCAW) welding. They undergo regular training and testing to maintain their certifications and stay current with industry best practices and safety standards. Our certified welders ensure that every weld is strong, clean, and meets or exceeds industry specifications.

Do you comply with NYC building codes?

Absolutely. All of our structural and architectural metalwork is fabricated and installed in full compliance with New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) codes and regulations. We are familiar with the specific requirements for railings, fire escapes, structural connections, and other code-regulated metalwork in NYC. When needed, we work with engineers and architects to ensure all designs meet the required specifications and pass inspection.

What quality control measures do you have?

Quality is at the core of everything we do. Our quality control process includes careful inspection of all incoming materials, precise measurements and verification at every stage of fabrication, thorough weld inspection, dimensional checks against original drawings, and a final quality review before any piece leaves our shop. We use precision measuring tools, levels, and gauges to ensure accuracy. Every project is inspected by a senior fabricator before delivery or installation.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, Iron Steel Laser Cut NYC is a fully licensed and insured metal fabrication company. We carry comprehensive general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage to protect both our team and our clients. Our licensing is current and complies with all local and state requirements for metal fabrication businesses operating in New York. We are happy to provide proof of insurance and licensing upon request for your peace of mind.

Yes, we stand behind the quality of our work and offer warranties on our fabrication and installation services. The specific warranty terms may vary depending on the type of project and materials used, but we are committed to your complete satisfaction.
