Multiple Cutting Technologies Under One Roof

What We Offer

The right cutting method for every material, thickness, and tolerance requirement

Laser Cutting

Ultra-precise cuts for detailed work with tolerances as tight as +/-0.005". Ideal for intricate patterns, fine details, signage, decorative panels, and precision parts requiring clean, burr-free edges.

Plasma Cutting

Fast cutting for thick plates up to 2" and beyond. Plasma delivers excellent speed and cost-efficiency for heavy structural work, large shapes, and applications where laser cutting is not economical.

Metal Shearing

Clean straight cuts on sheet metal up to 1/4" thick and 10' wide. Shearing is the fastest and most cost-effective method for straight-line cuts on flat sheet metal stock.

Band Saw Cutting

Precision cutting of bar stock, tubing, structural shapes (angle, channel, beam), and round/square stock. Our horizontal and vertical band saws handle materials from 1/2" to 24" in cross-section.

Waterjet Cutting

Heat-free cutting for heat-sensitive materials and applications where thermal distortion must be eliminated. Waterjet cuts virtually any material including hardened steel, titanium, and composites.

CNC Profile Cutting

Computer-controlled profile cutting for complex shapes and patterns. Our CNC systems ensure repeatability and consistency across large production runs with minimal operator variability.

Cutting Method Comparison

Choose the right cutting technology for your project

Method Best For Max Thickness Tolerance Edge Quality
Fiber Laser Intricate shapes, precision parts Up to 1" +/-0.005" Excellent
Plasma Thick plates, structural steel Up to 2" +/-1/16" Good
Shearing Straight cuts on sheet metal Up to 1/4" +/-1/32" Good
Band Saw Bar stock, tubing, structural shapes Up to 24" cross +/-1/16" Fair
Waterjet Heat-sensitive, exotic materials Up to 6" +/-0.005" Excellent

Our Metal Cutting Process

Precision and quality at every step

1

Order Review

We review your drawings, dimensions, material specs, and quantity requirements. Our team selects the optimal cutting method based on your tolerance, material, and budget needs.

2

Material Preparation

We pull material from stock or procure to your specifications. Sheets are inspected for defects and verified against material certs before cutting begins.

3

Precision Cutting

Experienced operators execute the cut using the selected method. First-piece inspection is performed and approved before the production run continues to ensure accuracy.

4

QC & Packaging

Every piece is dimensionally verified. Parts are deburred as needed, labeled for identification, and carefully packaged for pickup or delivery to prevent damage in transit.

Metal Cutting FAQ

Common questions about our metal cutting services

How do I know which cutting method is best for my project?
The best cutting method depends on several factors: material type, thickness, required tolerance, edge quality needs, quantity, and budget. As a general guide: laser cutting is best for thin to medium materials requiring tight tolerances and clean edges; plasma cutting excels at thick plates where speed matters; shearing is most economical for straight cuts on sheet metal; and band sawing is ideal for bar stock and structural shapes. When you contact us, our team will recommend the optimal method based on your specific requirements.
What is the thickest metal you can cut?
Our maximum cutting thickness depends on the method and material. With laser cutting, we can handle up to 1" mild steel and 3/4" stainless steel. Plasma cutting extends our capacity to 2"+ plate steel. Our band saws accommodate structural shapes up to 24" in cross-section. For waterjet cutting, we can handle up to 6" of virtually any material. If your project requires cutting thicker material, contact us -- we may be able to accommodate it through multiple passes or alternative methods.
Can I bring my own material for cutting?
Yes, we welcome customer-supplied material. Many clients purchase their own steel or specialty metals and bring them to us for cutting. Just make sure the material is properly identified (grade/alloy) and in reasonable condition (flat, clean, free of heavy rust or paint). We'll inspect it upon arrival and let you know if there are any concerns. We also stock common grades of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum if you'd prefer us to supply the material.
What tolerances can you hold on metal cutting?
Tolerances vary by cutting method. Fiber laser cutting achieves the tightest tolerances at +/-0.005" for most materials. Waterjet cutting also achieves +/-0.005" with the added benefit of no heat distortion. Plasma cutting typically holds +/-1/16" (0.0625"). Shearing holds +/-1/32" (0.031") on straight cuts. Band saw cutting is typically +/-1/16". If your project has critical tolerance requirements, please specify them on your drawing and we'll select the appropriate cutting method.
Do you offer same-day metal cutting?
Yes, we offer same-day and next-day cutting for rush projects, subject to machine availability and material stock. Simple cuts from standard materials can often be completed while you wait. For laser and plasma cutting of parts from files, we typically need a few hours to program and run the job. Call us at (917) 807-9922 to check availability for same-day service. There may be a rush surcharge for expedited orders depending on the scope.
